Già nella Bibbia, il melograno è uno dei sette frutti della Terra Promessa, e gli Ebrei, che identificavano i suoi 600 semi con i 613 precetti della Torah, lo riconobbero come simbolo di onestà e correttezza. Per i Persiani, in particolare, i semi color sangue indicano un'energia vitale che - come ci ricorda la tradizione cristiana - significa anche forza nella passione.

Even in the Bible, the pomegranate was one of the seven fruits of the Promised Land. Jewish tradition identifies its 600 seeds with the 613 precepts of the Torah, holding it as a symbol of honesty and decency. For the Persians in particular, the blood-coloured seeds indicate a vital energy that, similar to Christian tradition, also signifies enduring passion.
